Friday morning 5.11
IMSSA receives a call from FIFA stating that one of its employees is in Ethiopia for work.
Ms XY has tested positive for COVID. Her situation is stable.
FIFA asks us to evacuate Ms XY from the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel, where she is staying in Addis Ababa, since it can no longer ensure her safety.
The main reason for the evacuation is the political situation on the ground: the Ethiopian government has declared a state of emergency throughout the country. The fighting between pro-government forces and the Tigrayan rebels is raging on the outskirts of the capital.
Friday 5.11 at 11:18
Ms XY is in voluntary quarantine in her hotel.
We decide to use an air ambulance equipped to deal with COVID.
